For Moms of very small ones

On those days when baby cries and you’ve changed her, fed her, held her, rocked her, used the swing and the stroller, and still baby cries… remember these days happen for everyone. Lower your super mommy expectations for the day. We all have those expectations to be super mommy. Sometimes mine were high and sometimes even my lowest expectations seemed too high: just a clean house, happy baby and children, good food, a shower and getting all of us dressed! And many days, even that just didn’t happen. Some weeks even nail trimming was overwhelming with 40 toenails and 40 fingernails! Those days, pb&j sandwiches are totally nutritious. A little bit more age appropriate TV than you normally allow your children to watch may be okay. The millionaire idea is always good: use that life-line and phone a friend, your mom, a mentor for a little help.

What would I have done without Candy and Judy – wonderful women who helped me so much! Once I was so sick with morning sickness and my baby had a stomach bug. Candy came over and changed the nasty diaper. We survived many days like the one I described above. To me, those days looked and felt like defeat or failure, but in God’s hands, even those days are turned into victory. Try to find something to praise God for that day! (Life is full of good things.) And hang on till your husband or help and bedtime arrives! Find something to laugh at if possible! Remember that one day, you will actually miss these moments. Obviously not the cries, but that baby and toddler stage will not last forever. Remember that you are blessed to have your sweet babies!

Hugs to each of you that are in that moment of your lives!
